Bespoke joinery for stores, retail chains and public environments
Contact usBespoke joinery is interior fit-out made for a single location: a specific room, a specific brand, a specific budget. At Smålandsinredningar we build it in our own factory in Järnforsen and install it at your premises. We take responsibility for the whole project, from the first sketch to the finished installation, and we can do the same in ten stores as in one.

What is bespoke joinery?
It is joinery that cannot be bought off the shelf, for example a checkout counter for a particular brand, a seating area that has to withstand the daily wear of a shopping centre, or a display that has to follow a brand manual to the millimetre. We draft, engineer and manufacture to your requirements, or build on drawings from your architect or designer.

What we build
- Checkout counters and reception desks for stores, offices and public premises.
- Store interiors and displays for complete chain concepts, from pilot store to rollout.
- Built-to-fit seating areas and planters for shopping centres and other public areas.
- Showroom interiors built to the manufacturer's guidelines, for example for car showrooms.
Materials and manufacturing
We work in wood, metal, glass, textile and composite, and in natural materials such as stone when a project calls for it. The material is chosen according to how the surface will be used: a checkout counter in a store and a bench in a shopping centre place completely different demands on wear resistance and finish. We use FSC-certified material and only Swedish suppliers that hold the required certifications and environmental labels. This means shorter transport distances, clearer traceability and a supply chain you can stand behind. It is interior fit-out with a clear conscience. The factory is powered by solar panels, and the energy is stored in four large batteries.
Production combines modern CNC machines with detailed handwork. The machines deliver exact dimensions and consistent quality when the same unit is to be repeated across many stores, and our joiners take care of edges, joints and surfaces where the eye is the judge.

From idea to finished installation
1. Needs and brief. We go through the premises, brand, dimensions and budget. If you already have drawings or a design manual, we start from those.
2. Engineering and drawings. The design is made manufacturable: materials, fixings, accessibility and safety requirements are settled before anything is cut.
3. Manufacturing. Everything is built in our factory in Järnforsen. For larger series we plan production so that deliveries follow your schedule.
4. Delivery and installation. Our installation teams complete the build on site with as little disruption as possible to ongoing operations, including at night when the premises require it.
Our project managers are your fixed point of contact all the way through, so that changes and additions are handled quickly and without bureaucracy.
Bespoke joinery for retail chains
Chains have different requirements than individual stores. The look must be the same in every unit, deliveries must arrive on time and quality must hold as volumes grow. We have built for brands such as Stokke, TAG Heuer, Synsam, Elon Ljud & Bild and Hemmakväll. We can take over an existing concept, develop it or create a new one. Read more about how we work with chain customers.
As part of the Lundahl & Hall group, we have production and warehouse capacity far beyond what our own organisation might suggest. On large projects a design network steps in as one team, led by us. You have one point of contact but get the resources of a larger company.

Bespoke joinery in public environments
Public environments see heavy wear and must meet regulations. At Westfield Täby Centrum we have delivered built-to-fit seating areas and planters in wood and composite, made for daily use. We engineer with hard-wearing surface finishes and secure fixings, and adapt to local building codes and requirements for fire safety, sustainability and ergonomics, in collaboration with the architect and project manager. See more under interiors for public environments.
We deliver nationwide
We manufacture in Järnforsen and carry out projects throughout Sweden. If you need bespoke joinery near a major city, see our pages for bespoke joinery in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö.
Price and lead time
The price depends on materials, size, number of units and installation, and therefore cannot be quoted up front. You will receive a fixed proposal once we have reviewed drawings and dimensions. Our projects cost from SEK 2,000 to SEK 1,000,000, depending on scope. The lead time is normally 6–12 weeks.

Frequently asked questions about bespoke joinery
Standard fittings come ready-made from a catalogue and are not adapted to the premises. Bespoke joinery is made to your dimensions, your brand and the way you use the space, and solves what standard products cannot: awkward surfaces, special functions or requirements for an exact look.
Yes. We are used to working from drawings and design proposals from architects and interior designers, and can contribute engineering advice so that the design becomes practical and sustainable without losing the vision.
It depends on the scope. The lead time is normally 6–12 weeks. Clear dialogue and planning at the start keep the schedule on track.
Mainly wood, but also metal, glass, textile, composite and stone. The choice is governed by the project's requirements for appearance, wear and function. We use FSC-certified material and only Swedish suppliers that hold the required certifications and environmental labels.
We work closely with architects and project managers and adapt the construction to local building codes and requirements for, among other things, fire safety, sustainability and ergonomics.
